One of our greatest fears is the fear of the future. Since childhood, we’ve been programmed to end up with a dark lot if we’re not sincere. We try our best to perform at this stage of life but make many mistakes. From there, we fear that the future will be a dark cave, and we will live in that.
The problem is that we can’t avoid making mistakes as they’re a crucial part of life, and our programming declares that it’s terrible to make mistakes. That produces a kind of friction in our brains. We start worrying about the future and stop living in the present. As time flies, we get addicted to this kind of thinking.
Always, we associate a mistake with darkness and avoid taking risks because it may bring us despair. We lose the capacity to learn anything new, and soon, our lives become a living hell.
You don’t need to believe me. Look at yourself and try to witness your insecurities.
Aren’t you afraid to face the following year, next month, next week, and the next day?
Don’t you get scared at the thought of disease and decay, I.e., old age?
Isn’t it true that you’re terrified of thinking about the poverty that can come because of the depreciation in your material assets?
We don’t know what the future will bring, and we can’t avoid the outcome of specific actions that are beyond our control. What we can do is create a backup for everything that we do in our day-to-day life. Except that there is no benefit to worry and stress.
We can convert the probability of certain events in our favor by creating plans and taking enough precautions, but we can never be sure of a specific outcome. We’ve to get ready to face any consequence of our actions.
To worry about the future without doing anything to prevent the consequences of our past mistakes is insanity. We’ve to understand the probabilistic phenomenon of life. Nothing is certain. It all depends on the variables we put consciously or unconsciously in association with the random interference of Nature.
Our work is to do our best and leave the rest. We’re free to act by choice but bound by the law of nature for the outcome, and remember, till now, we’ve not decoded the complete set of rules on that Nature works; hence we can never be sure of the result.
Once we accept this fact, life becomes easy to live. We play with the work at hand, doing our best, and as per the laws of nature, we get returns. I just wanted to let you know that there is nothing to worry about regarding the outcome. It’s neither luck nor coincidence. It’s statistical probability.
