Can’t we Just Let Go of the Past?

Long ago, someone hurt us, and we're carrying the resentment. Today are we sick to acknowledge that the person who hurt us is no longer with us?

“Life’s too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forgive the ones who don’t and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it’d be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.”

– Dr. Seuss

We’ll die one day, and every pain will end eventually.

When we realize this truth and live by it daily, we don’t fall into the trap of regret and resentment.

We’ve got the memories of the past. They’re dead, and we’re carrying them in our heads.

Long ago, someone hurt us, and we’re carrying the resentment. Today are we sick to acknowledge that the person who hurt us is no longer with us?

We’ve got a collection of memories, and we’re fighting with that.

There is no one in front of us except a still presence of our unique being. The present is with us to learn and enjoy, but we’re busy seducing the past.

Can’t we just let go of everything that happened to make friends with our memories?
