“What you stay focused on will grow.”

― Roy T. Bennett

We don’t enjoy the work and find ways to escape from our work desks. We hate to sit and persevere. We crave a quick fix. It doesn’t exist.

The problem of our inability to focus on the work is rooted in our mental environment that produces enough excuses to leave the work desk.

Without focus, we can’t achieve anything of significance. Everything will be next messed up, and we’ll keep switching from one task to another for the rest of the day and accomplish nothing.

To stay focused on our work for long hours means we’ve got a reason to do what we’re doing. But most of us have no reason to do the job.

There is no one to appreciate our work. Like mechanical robots, we’re fixing the tools to create a gadget in that we’ve no interest. We don’t know the significance of our work. It doesn’t give us any meaning in life.

We can’t do work efficiently without the inner inspiration that comes when we understand the value of our work and realize that our work has a deep meaning and it’s going to impact the life of someone.

When we recall all those compliments and gifts we get when we do the work with perfection. Naturally, we’re inclined to perform well.

If you find it challenging to sit for long hours doing your work, try to associate your feelings with the value of the work you’re producing. It’s going to impact the life of someone significantly.

Think about your dreams and goals. This work was once your dream job. You thought about living a decent life with satisfaction and enjoying your work.

This is the life you once wished for yourself, and today it’s time to pay all your debts. You must close all the previous accounts and start working on new projects.

Think about the excitement associated with happiness on the completion of the work. Your work is essential. It takes care of your basic needs and gives you a sense of belongingness.

Respect your work, and you’ll be able to do the work for long hours with enthusiasm and focus. The effects and results become miraculous when we find the why behind our work. I hope you’ve found that.
