Every morning, we walk.
There are days when we talk.
There are days when we don’t.
The road does not seem to mind either way.
A few months ago, my wife needed a new pair of shoes.
The next morning, we walked again.
Nothing remarkable happened.
The sun rose.
Life continued.
The money was gone.
The walk remained.
Months later, I no longer remember what the shoes cost.
The walks are easier to remember.
One day these shoes will wear out.
Another pair will replace them.
For now, the road is still there.
So are we.
Reading is enough.
