How to Deal with Guilt & Shame?

Tomorrow may bring out a new promise, but for that, you must prepare yourself; for that, you must become free of the guilt and shame you're carrying. You've got to forgive yourself.

“I have learned, that the person I have to ask for forgiveness from the most is: myself. You must love yourself. You have to forgive yourself, everyday, whenever you remember a shortcoming, a flaw, you have to tell yourself “That’s just fine”. You have to forgive yourself so much, until you don’t even see those things anymore. Because that’s what love is like.”

Most of us feel guilty for past mistakes. It feels terrible, but there was a way to produce better results.

We keep criticizing our younger selves who didn’t take the steps required for self-growth. This act of abuse and criticism becomes a habit, and we keep playing the same drama for our whole life.

We don’t understand the simple truth that the person we’re abusing and criticizing didn’t have the knowledge and experience to act in any other way. She did her best with the wisdom she had at that time.

Our responsibility is to correct those mistakes by cleaning out the mess created by years of wrong perceptions, attitudes, and beliefs.

This is the moment where transformation is possible. We can forgive ourselves and forget all those thoughts that corrupted our nature. We can tell ourselves a new story of love and gratitude. We can start a new life of beauty and perfection by following the natural rhythm of the Universe.

It can produce great results even if you’re a lifetime failure; the brain you’ve been gifted from the Universe is intelligent and creative. Start using this complex human machine to create something unique.

What about writing about something special about yourself?

You’ve constantly abused and criticized yourself. Right now, grab a piece of paper and pen. Start writing about your blessings and strengths. Mention down all points that make you unique. It may not be your birthday but celebrate this day as a special one.

Give yourself another chance to perform better. Who knows, today is the end of your life’s suffering.

Tomorrow may bring out a new promise, but for that, you must prepare yourself; for that, you must become free of the guilt and shame you’re carrying. You’ve got to forgive yourself.

Can you do that?
