The Village Within — II

No voice arrives as a guide. It arrives as a visitor. Somewhere within, familiarity quietly becomes trust.

Yesterday, we left the village with a question.

Who governs it?

Since then, another question has been quietly following me.

How does any voice become trusted enough to guide the village?

Surely it doesn’t happen in a single day.

No voice arrives as a guide.

It arrives as a visitor.

The first time it speaks, we barely notice it.

The second time, it sounds familiar.

Then one day, without announcing its arrival, it begins speaking on our behalf.

Every guide begins this way.

Not through force.

Through familiarity.

The village within us changes in much the same way.

A thought we welcome finds its way back.

An excuse repeated often enough begins to sound reasonable.

A habit left unquestioned quietly asks for less permission tomorrow.

Nothing dramatic happens.

Life continues.

Somewhere within, one voice has become a little easier to trust than the others.

That is why the smallest moments matter.

Not because they appear important.

But because they quietly decide which voices become familiar.

And whatever becomes familiar…

slowly begins to feel like our own.

Tomorrow, I want to sit a little longer with another question.

Who has been making that voice feel at home?
